1992 30 hp won't idle

1992 30 hp motor sat unused for 2 yrs & the carburetor was all gummed up. So I cleaned the carb & now it will start at 1/2 throttle & run fine. But when I move the throttle to idle it stalls right away. It will restart easily but only if I hit the electric choke.

make sure the cylinders are sealing well(compression) after sitting that long.
If all is well with that then clean carbs again and make sure you clean out the pump and lines also. anything in them will end up in carbs after start up

I did clean the lines & the pump. I do remember the diaphram didn't looks that great.might have event had some slight damage.I not familar with how that pump worksHow does it function & could that be the cause of my problem.

Go back into the carb and clear the pilot jet and path from both ends. Leave in place instead of risking breaking. Use plenty of carb cleaner and a compressor. The pilot jet provides all fuel during idle. If that's the problem, nothing else will solve it.

Had the same with our tlr 90.
