even better would be to hook up the built in battery isolator to batt 2 and run on batt 1.
that way both batteries charge even when the switch is set to batt 1.

That engine is equiped with a built in battery isolator that allows it to charge two batteries at once and only draw current from one battery, would need MAR-69JIS-0L-ED Islolator lead with circuit breaker

68F is 9 ft long without circuit breaker, MAR-69J is 13.5 ft with 50 amp breaker

yes its really me, and yes the diagrams above actually work and work quite well.
battery switch is ALWAYS a good idea.
only thing you want powered up with the batt switch off is the auto bilge switch.
all the us market v6 motors from from the early 90's to now had an isolator incorperated in the regulator assy.
most the four strokes above about 115 also have this feature.
not many riggers actually utilize it but its there.
no need for VSR switchs or external isolators.

Thanks for the feed back. I installed the switch and the second battery, but have not had the chance to separate the bildge pump, accessories and such. Was thinking of tieing accessories and charging curcit to the secondary battery. Where would you suggest terminating the bildge pump. How do you feel about terminating the acessaries and the charging circut at the switch instead of directly to the batteries. Eliminates fooling with those wires when you pull batteries in and out.

Glad to have you back Rodbolt. Hope all is well. Since you have been going there has been no one with your experience anserwing the guestions. I tune in a couple times a week just for entertainment.

Can I run the isolator wire to the battery switch so whichever battery is being used will charge. Without the isolator wire hooked up the battery is drained, whichever one I'm using.

Hook up that way you don't need isolator lead as the battery cables does that now.
