yamaha 150 four stoke starting problem

My 2008 150 four stroke, starts and runs fine initially. After running a while, when you turn it off and go to restart, doesn't want to start right up, and acts like it is flooded, and will not to run. Just got the outfit, and don't now what to check.

Check compression, check fuel pressure and fuel vacumn test while running, have it checked with computer diagnostic to see if any fault codes.

Would it matter if the 32 gallon tank was down to about 2 gallons?

Are you in a habit of trying to run the tank dry just to see what it feels like running light

Not at all, usually want it full, just happens we are a few miles from a fuel source and wanted to try out the boat.
