Hi. I have a 2004 F-150 motor, I am having a boat built to order for it. Would it be wise to have hydraulic steering on this motor, or is the standard cable steering ok? I'm in a remote location, so reliability and ease of use are critical for me. Thanks.

Its a nice-to-have feature but not mandatory on a 150hp motor. In remote areas of the world you may have trouble getting the correct hydraulic fluid for the steering system if you ever need it, unless you keep some onhand yourself. Here in the states I would get hydraulic steering if it were my boat but where you are may make the maintenance more difficult.

I have had it on my boat for years now, and it has been relaiable and trouble free. All parts are very well built and can be repaired if ever needed.
