My 2001 200hpdi needs a new rectifier/regulator and I'm debating whether to buy one from boats.net or take it to a service repair for replacement.
I have decent skills in this kind of thing but as with anything new, it looks a little intimidating so I could use some advice from those of you that have done this.
I think (but not sure) I see the rectifier on the starboard side when I remove the 6x6" plastic cover in the center of the powerhead, lower and aft of the starter. It looks to be held in with some bolts that take an allen wrench for removal....is that it? Is it simply a matter of moving all those wires and unbolting the rectifier or are there other things to consider?
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
