It's a 2001 200hpdi and has run spectacularly for 10 years but recently it's hard to start. When I turn the key and it turns over it "tries" to start for several seconds, then it does but runs rough for 5-10 seconds and then seems normal. Once it does start running normally it smokes a lot for a while, especiall if I had been running at higher RPM's for a while.
Here's what I've done before going to this forum:
I removed and cleaned the O2 Sensor. I changed all 4 filters, including the VST filter, the strainer, the corregated paper filter and the water/fuel separator. The bulb pumps (it's the original bulb from 2001) fuel fine and there is fuel in the see-thru canister. The fuel in my tank is not old and I have always used RingFree and Startron additive.
Any ideas on where I should focus my attention now?
