  • Can't seem to fix trim guage

Having problems with my trim gauge not working. 06' vz225 HPDI. Checked the sensor and associated parts before purchasing a new guage. Installed the new guage but still won't work. Back to the sensor, tried a replacement sensor, no luck. Tested the new and old sensor resistance on the trim sensor ranged from 0 Ohms closed to 27 Ohms open on both. Finally found that the brown wire from the guage was broken, respliced, but still not working. The Ranger guage is a fuel & trim guage, trying to isolate the wiring from the motor to the guage. Does anyone know the wire colors used for the trim sensor going back to the motor. They are red, black at the sensor connector on the motor. Wire colors from the guage are Brown w/grey stripe, red, black, purple & blue splitting out different directions. Don’t know which ones are for trim and which ones are for fuel. Puchased the only book for this motor I could find but the wiring schematics not exactly easy to understand. Any additional information would be appreciated

Yamaha trim sender wire is pink, probably has a harness from Ranger and would have to find out from Ranger what there color codes are.
