I have recently purchased 2005's Yamaha 200hp's HPDI's. There is a lot of salt under the cowling on many of the parts and it just looks dirty. I would like to clean this up. What is the best way to do this? I am thinking water may damage some of the electroincs. Thanks for you help.

No high pressure water, strong solvents, strong degreasers or strong detergents. I use WD-40 or similar and an old toothbrush, then a garden hose(without the pressure nozzle), then maybe an air hose and let motor dry in the sun. Take your time and it'll look good without screwing up anything. Good Luck!
