I've got a 1996 Yamaha 225 Saltwater series, the engine starts just fine runs at idle with no problem, the problem comes when I try to accelerate the engine will come up to 5000 RPM’s for about 100 yards then it’ll shut down slowly like it’s running out of gas. To date I’ve change the water separator, the fuel filter, all three fuel pumps and still have this problem. I have also by-passed the fuel filter to make sure that it wasn’t plugged up still no change. Does anyone have any recommendation as to what might be the problem?

Maybe sucking air or a restriction.
Check fuel pressure/vacuum to see if it will show anything strange at problem RPM.

Did you try pumping the primer when problem was happening?

99YAM40; Tried priming but the bulb goes flat after a few pumps. So I tried bypassing the bulb thinking maybe I had a bad bulb problem remained.
