1985 yamaha outboard ETLK 115 hp

my outboard keeps pumping oil from the remote tank to the main tank . Is the problem with the float sensor or with the oil control unit ? I try to test the oil control unit according to the seloc manual using a digital volt meter and Im not able to get digital readings on the float sensor leg of the unit ???? Am I doing it wrong ?? thanks jeff

Hard to tell from this side of the computer screen how you are doing your testing.
If the float switches are not making properly then that would be a problem.
Low voltage to the oil con*****er will also cause the pump to overrun.
