Fuel Filter Replacement

I have a 115TLR 2-stroke and just purchased a fuel filter. I cant figure out how to get the old one off. Looks like the bowl should simply unscrew from the housing, but I dont want to damage anything in the process.

Yes cup unscrews from base, ethanol gas will swell the cup up and make it very difficult to get loose may have use pliers on it to break loose.
