Tear down lower unit 50hp

Need some help with bearing removal from "cap". Should I be heating to remove the bearings which are still OK?

With a little bit of slow even levering I got the ball bearing& gear out. Needle bearing still in place -- soft nudging does not seem to move it-- Heat?

With no help forthcoming I chickened out & took it to the dealer. 3 hours for re-assembly seems a bit much but how can to argue
