Yamaha Outboard models identification

Hi fellas , I purchased a 15 ft half cabin (with new transom installed!) with a 60hp yamaha outboard on back. The brackets for mounting was broken and new ones Installed , I found the old ones in the boat and I'm wondering if I can ID the model without the serial codes , I'm unsure if the bracket number is same model as original ! So am unsure of all from fuel mixture ratios to year of outboard I can supply a pic . I've noticed that most outboard models are distinctive re rounder casings on new models etc . Is there a way to correctly identify the year from a picture library etc? Thanks guys I'm a pestman and no boat mechanic ! Termites are my expertise field and marine worm is also con*****able too if u have a good pestle mate , appreciate feedback ASAP private or posted thanks boys , James Wilson (Excelpest2002)
