f115 service question

I am building a new flats fishing boat. The F115 appears a good choice.

Anyone having repetitive failures or service issues with this engine?

Interested in any history and design changes in 2003 or 2004 models.

The F115 Yamaha has a extremmly good track record
and no changes between 03 and 04

Suggest you search the net for "f115 gas or petrol or water in oil or crankcase" you might be surprised!!

I have trouble with excessive gas in my crankcase. Real bad if you ***** or run at idle speed much. On third powerhead now. Only fix is to change the oil every 10 hours. Engine runs to cold and Yamaha does not want to change to a hotter thermostat. Otherwise, it is a great engine.
