  • is it normal that engine tilt falls down slowly

i got a yammy 70horses 2 stroke. so i rocked onto the beach and tilt up the engine all the way, but i did not flip down the tilt support leaver. when i go back about 2 hours later the engine is half way down, lower unit touching the sand.

i know i'm not suppose to leave engine tilt up without support leaver, but is it normal that it falls down slowly? it must been very slowly as sometimes i tilt up the engine and don't see it falling down when i am around for 30 minutes+

usually it should stay up, your tilt and trim valve body has a small leak internal

My 90C T&T will leak down slowly like that...guess it's one of those internal O-Rings or ball check valves leaking some...not much to do about it other than a rebuild or a new T&T$$$....I use the tilt lock if I want it to stay up!
