I am having issues with my motor at idle in neutral it seems to have cough. top end is fine idling in gear it is not as bad. The motor has 47 hours on it and it had sat for about 6 months before I got it. I removed the carbs disassembled them cleaned all jets with carb cleaner reassembled. This made a real difference for starting and the first few stops and starts and then it seemed to get worse as the day went on. I checked the fuel filter and the water seperator they both were fine. any help appriciated.

Probably still running too lean, low speed circuit in carbs still plugged up or carbs out of sync, reclean carb and resync carb linkage. -

Look in your Yamaha service manual and follow the procedure in it. Needs to be done every time you reinstall the carbs so they are open exactly the same at idle( in sync)Comment
