Hi All, how do you get out bearing carrier on 1985 90hp lower end. I have pulled it with a puller, heated it with air, put prop on wood and did up the nut. Seen bravo one puller on utube. Did same rig up with no success. Has anyone got any more tips or tricks with this. Or is it just keep tighting puller until doesn't go any tighter. Thanks.

Most of the time it takes a torch to heat it enough to break loose. -

Ended up taking it to local marine dealer and they got it out for couple of hundred. Ouch. Now find my shift piece is broken, where it shouldn't be and the replacement is 470. What? 470. No way. So having the part sent from US. Much cheaper over there. Or here, depending where you are. Anyway, still cheaper to do yourself than pay mechanic. Still behind, but not by much, Thanks.
Once the bearing carrier was out. I coulde assess the full damage and know what to replace. Ahh, knowledge is ****. Thanks.Comment
