Oil tanks??

I am in the procees of re-powering. I am going from 1987 200hps to 2004 200 hps HPDI's. I am being told my old oil tanks will not work, is this true? Why?

They did change oil tank harness and will not work on newer models.
Order a new oil tank, part number 6YR-W0035-93-00 3 Gallon Oil Tank kit
