refilling power trim

I am trying to refill my power trim on my 90hp yamaha and can't get all of the air out.Can anyone help!

Fill with fluid with motor in full up position, loosen manual release screw on side motor bracket and allow motor to go all the way down and raise back up by hand, refill with with fluid, repeat about 3 times to get all air out.

Do you close the manual release screw before you lower the motor each time, or does it stay open the whole time?
