  • Command Link to Garmin NMEA 2000

I have a Command Link hub from twin 2006 F250s right next to my NMEA 2000 network behind the 3 Yamaha square gauges (port/stbd/fuel) on the dash and one in the bilge, aft by the engines. Can I simply splice a standard CL plug into an NMEA 2K connector and connect it to my 2000 network to display engine data on my (dual) Garmin 5212s or do I need the (expensive) interface cable? If a simple splice works do the wire colors match between CL and NMEA 2000? I currently get GPS speed on the CL Fuel gauge, but I'm not sure how it gets there. Thanks!

You need the proper interface cable from garmin or install the Yamaha Gateway to connect the Yamaha Command link to NMEA 2000 network. DO NOT start splicing wires or jumpers to interface the two networks.
