Does anyone out there have a manual for a Yam v4 140hp outboard circa mid 80s

No we don't Yamaha didn't start selling motors here until 1984 and never did have a 140HP engine, they came out with the 130HP in 1988.Sorry -

I would get in touch with the Yamaha factory via the internet and try to e-mail the service dept - maybe they can help you.
I don't believe there is much difference in the 130 and 140 hp Yamaha outboard - a manual for the 130 would probably do ok.
