yamaha 55bet u

hello all .
this is my first post and this is my problem.
i am about to purchase a 55 hp yamaha 1999 vintage i think.
i havnt got it yet but im told the numbers are 55BET U....
now i cant find any info on this model ..such as cubic centermeters...weight.
and what ratio mix fuel. also can i buy a handbook.

If it ends in "U" it is a 1996 model. I didn't know they had a 55HP model though, you might want to check that. I searched the web and found a manual for my 70HP - keep looking you'll find one.

Don't have any information on motors outside USA, Yamaha sold a C55 model here in US that was a non oil injected 2 stroke engine and used a 50:1 oil ratio but not sure if same as your model.

My book shows a 50HP, 3 cylinder, 42.6 Cubic Inch, 189lbs., 50:1 fuel/oil mix, maybe very similar to your 55?, only yours may be a foreign market motor?...

thanks for all your replys ..this motor is 2 cyl 55hp and under european code the letter U is 1999 model. this could be an australian only model .
i have also read in other threads that it could be made for commercial use.
dont know weather to buy it if i cant identify it ...parts problems .
maybe yamaha has an answer.
