pricol marine tachometer on yamaha 40hp 2 strokes

I am tryng to install a pricol marine tach on a 40hp 2 stroke yamaha outboard.

The tach has signal entrances for S: ignition Coil and W: Alternator /ECU

Also can be set for 2,3,4,5 or 6 PULSES (not say poles)

I supposse that I must use:

S: ignition coil entrance

3 PULSE settings (that I read in this forum that is the same for 6 POLES)

Also the S entrance will be connected to the GREEN cable from the remote control.

Do you think I am right?

No that engine has a alternator driven tach signal set for W, all the rest is correct.
