It is a must if you plan on working on your motor yourself

Pulling brg carrier isn't a job for the DIY. Needs to be pressed back in. Good suggestions in the thread, you'll be fine.

Don't do it!

I just watched an expierienced rebuilder open my lower unit. This is not for the average "Joe". Especially if your lower unit has been in place for a long time with corrosion issues.
