I have a 1997 80 hp yamaha, other than changing prop how can I get more speed ? It's on an 18 foot sea ark andonly runs 20 to 25 mph has tilt & trim & hydraclic jack plate.

What prop are you running, what kind of a load do you have in the boat, how heavy is the rig total, and what RPM are you able to run at WOT? -
Mine is an 18' Express Jon sorta similar to yours, and I've often wondered if I stripped that flat OD green paint off the bottom of the hull, maybe it would be smoother and help give me some more speed? My flat bottom(6 degree deadrise) Jon boat has a lot of drag and porpoises some when trimmed up. Maybe some trim tabs on transom would also help? Good Luck!
