Will the entire cooling system be flushed using the hose connection flush port with engine off or do I have to use earmuffs with engine running to open t-stat?

If boat is in water can it be run with earmuffs in the raised position?

The flush adapter will flush the whole engine, don't have to run on muffs.

Was told by Yamaha Customer service inGA that on cold engine it would not because t-stat would be closed, does it have a bypass mechanism like on automotive?

Thermostat does have hole in it to allow water to pass through it just not as much as if thermostat is fully open.
