  • Yamaha trim indicator

My trim indicator on the electronic gauge is not working. I checked the trim sensor with ohm meter it is good. I replaced the trim cam with a metal one but the trim on the gauge indicates all the way down. When you power up the gauge the indicator bars start at the top then cascade down. Any ideas for trouble shooting

If trim sender is good then check wiring harness between gauge and sender.

      Tilt Trim Indicator

Sounds like your Tilt and Trim Indicator....

The plastic ones are notorious for failing, they crack. The new ones are SS and last forsever...$10 replacement, 5 minutes to change.

You can see where it is in the first two photos. Just get the dimple lined up right and the small tab works the indicator roller which goes to the gauge position indicator.

        Oooops

I just noticed you did change the indicator....sorry.

I'd check to make sure you have the indicator positioned properly...the dimple in the little place on the bar, and the tab sitting correctly on the roller for the gauge.

Move the roller with your finger while looking at the gauge to see if you have movement...that will tell you if it's a tab positioning problem.
