225 o66 high speed

i have a 2000 225 O66 saltwater series 2 it runs great at low speeds below 5000 rpm around 5100 to 5400 it will breifly stall and regain rpm. i just purchased it last week.

if this is any help it is a twin engine and the other does fine.

what to check?

starts great, idles great, low speed great

also should they tach more than 5400 at WOT 54mph trimmed out

I would go thru your fuel system. Check and clean filters and lines. There is a filter on your high pressure fuel pump inside your VST. Any debris here will limit RPM's.

i would also clean/test O2 sensor
