Idle Speed Too High 200 2 stroke

I own a 2001 200 hp 2 stroke OX66. I followed idle adjustment procedure out of Factory service manual , and I can not get the idle below 1000.
Engine runs fine otherwise .Do I have a vacuum leak that I cant find??
Any ideas??

did it used to idle correctly ?
what happens when you disconnect cable @ motor and wait till rpms drop after warmup ?
have you cleaned /tested O2 recently ?

What cable are you referring to?

This engine gets used alot and has always idled well.

Dont know why it wants to stay around 1000.

I cleanedO2 thoroughly last January

Did you do the sync & link before setting idle?

referring to the throttle cable

A Sensor out of spec can cause high idle, may need to check with motor on a computer

sync and link helped me out

thank you all for the input on the sync and link and the cable adjustment

I did as you said and got the idle down to about 750 which was about what it had always been .

You folks are great and I appreciate all the help !!!
