Can anyone tell me where the pick-up for the speedometer is located on a 2002 115HP 4 Stroke? My speedometer stopped working and I can't find the pick-up hole to see if it is clogged.

I thought it was just in the leading edge of the lower unit, like every other motor out there. Look at the leading edge and lower than the cavitation plate. Should see a little pin hole there.

The pick-up hole should be in the leading edge of the lower unit. Best way to clear them is to check/clear obstruction in the hole first. Then disconnect the pipe and use a tyre foot pump with an adaptor to apply air pressure to blow the obstruction back out. You can also check the speedo is working by applying pressure up the line, approx 1psi = 1 mph. DO NOT use an air line for this you could apply too much pressure and damage the speedo. It is a good idea to have a connector in a convenient possition for doing this, my speedo get blocked on most outings due to the mud/silt in the estuary.
