1991 Yamaha 200 HP C/R engine
Engine was running fine until it seemed to loose any forward thrust. Engine runs still but prop does not turn. With engine off prop spins freely in neutral, does not spin in either forward or reverse. Hear some noise from unit just before it stopped. IN past I had found that mechanic that was to have drained and filled the lower unit did not tighten the lower drain screw. When I pulled the screw water drained out. Flushed it with oil about 4 times (filled and drained after running through gears) then replaced the oil. Ran it for about 5 hours last year. Drained this past winter and filled it again then used it for about 3 hours before lower unit stopped working.
All indication are lower unit but could it be any other problem?
