can't get the tach to work and was wondering the correct way to use the ohms meter to check the rectifier. got plenty of advice for omc and merc but i've only got a red, black, green and green wire. i know one green comes from the lighter coil and the other heads up the wiring harness. i already ruled out the wiring harness by jumpering the sending wire with another. help would be appreciated before i start changing parts. thanks

This has info and a troubleshooting guide for tach
Not sure why you are checking rectifier as the tach signal should come from before that.
In my opinion easiest to check the signal with a known good tachLast edited by 99yam40; 09-12-2011, 08:13 AM.
