I noticed on inspection that the cover for the CDI has flatten a wire. Everything still works but I just do not like the fact that the wire is not round but has been flatten out. should i fix it or just leave it alone. Hate to created a splice not a lot of room in there to get all wires out of the way for the cover.

Exposed
If the strands are not exposed, and the jacket looks like it is still solid I would not worry about it too much -- if you have any doubts, if you can slip down a piece of heat shrink for extra protection might not be a bad idea. -
