  • 703 remote

    Why are there a difference in 703 remotes.

    I have two one older one newer the old one has toggle switch for choke the newer one does not.
    does not make sense to me. enlighten me someone

          You are 100% correct. The old one that I have has the lift button spring loaded. The new one that I purchased with a different motor (which was about the same as the prev motor ) does not have nothing to activate the electric choke. It just does not make any sense to me. The motor has an electric choke and the wires I am sure are at the 703 box to activate it, there is just no button or toggle switch to activate it. There is even no place on the new 703 to put the switch like a groment or knock out area. Interesting to say the least

              What do you mean push key. Maby there is something I do not know about.

                With the key in the on position ,push the key in that should activate the choke as long as you hold it there if it has an electric choke

                      Just to bring uou up to date. Yes the auto choke works by turning the key and pushing it in. Thanks

                        i had the very same problem,apparently the choke is fully automatic and the coolant temp sensor is wired into the cdi unit which in turn gives the choke solonoid a supply if it is cold.
                        Mine is a 2002 40hp.
