We have 2004 F-115's Twins, and wondered if NMEA 2000 network would work on these engines? OR, to get fuel usage would we have to splice into the fuel line with the EP-60R sensor for each engine?
Thanks,
Don't think it will work. I believe that 2006 was the first year that Yamaha was NMEA 2000 compliant. I also "think" that the fuel flow rate generated by the engine is an estimation and that the EP-60R sensor will be a more accurate number. You do not have a choice. Can anyone else confirm that the flow rate generated by the engine and reported as a nmea 2000 value is at best an approximation?
I use the lowrance gauges, lmf 200 and lmf 400, and have been happy so far.
I "think" like you that that is correct, as there are no dedicated meters that I know of.
But if the fuel pressure and the injector on times are monitored then that maybe the way they calculate and get the fuel used which should be fairly accurate.
