Measuring floats

Hi all,
I've been working on diagnosing my 1997 115hp starting problems when warm and have been pointed to possible carb float adjustment issues. Got the specs from the manual but would love some advice on the best way to measure and adjust float height.

Anyone out there that can help with measuring float height? The manuals do a great job of tearing things down and rebuilding them but nothing really about repairing things.......
