  • I have a 225 yamaha ox66 buzzer is going off

The problem I am having with it is, I was out fishing one day and I bumped a stump getting small chunks of wood to get into m L/U causing my overheating alarm to sound off. I took it home pulled the foot off of it and ran water through everything.Still as soon as i get it on plane the buzzer comes on not allowing me to go anywhere. Next thing I am doing is replacing the waterpump and the housing that comes with it. Should I also pull the heads just to see if any passages are blocked? things I have done....

    1) pulled the foot off and and made sure it was all fine
    2) took poppit valve out ran clean water through it.
    3) replaced fuel pump relay $254.00

What would you guys suggest I do next?

Are you sure it is an overheat alarm and not low oil level?

well it stays on until the engine sits for 15 to 30 minutes. Then the buzzer goes off, then it will do the same thing.

time does not mean a hole lot to me.
Doesn't it have any indication on the tach or other gauges?

I would start testing things to see what you find

check oil level on main tank when this happens

          for cooling system:
          replace pump and housing
          stats
          PRV
          check intake grates

I think i found the problem. I took off both thermostats ran water through the ports, and alot of grass and sand came out. I started the motor back up and it didn't set the alarm. So hopefully I found the problem. I will know when I take it out this saturday. Thanks for the help so far

That was the Problem the entire time. I feel like a big dummy,I should have checked those before.
