F40tlrc tach problems

Have a 2004 f40tlrc 4 stroke my tach quit working .sent it back to faria instruments they went over it , put it back in still not working. Did a continuity test back to rectifier from signal wire at tach , all good , can just the tach part of a rectifier go bad, charging system working fine,is there a way to benchtest the rectifier.

Only true test is a voltage test with a peak reading voltmeter.
