Brand new member on this board and hoping somebody could answer a question about a 2002 40HP 2 stroke outboard that I just bought. Can anybody tell me what the correct fuel mixture is that I should be filling the tank with. The previous owner says 50:1 but I heard somebody also say that he uses 100:1 in his Yamaha. The motor does not excessively smoke during idle and the plugs looked to be reasonably clean so I'm thinking it should run on 50:1 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
