  • 2006 HPDI 200 HP - Starts Well but Won't Stay Running

I have been having great difficulty trying to start my 200 HPDI. The engine will turn over normally every time I try to start it but will only run for 2 or 3 seconds. I have checked all filters, the electric fuel pump, everything I can think of. What types of things tell the engine to shut down? I've checked the fuel pressure sensor. The fuel pump relay obviously starts, but apparently doesn't stay energized. Is it supposed to? Could this be an ignition problem? Maybe the ignition goes away after a couple of seconds. What might cause that. The manual only tells how to check different parameters, but it doesn't tell how the system is supposed to work. I could sure use some help.

    Thanks,

    michaelj

Need to run a compression test, run fuel pressure test and have diagnostic run to check fuel pressure on high pressure pump and check for fault codes.
