Hi good people!
I am trying to help my friend out with an old outboard-engine, a Yamaha 8A from 1980. ( We think, having checked engine id...)
Having 30+ years of engine repairs, but practically no experience with outboards...I am trying to find a manual, blueprints, a schematic - to no avail!
I have of course consulted Yamaha's own pages, but this engine is too old, and they do not offer anything there.
I can brave it and just tear it apart - but then I can bet there is that one elusive "Where-does-this-go-again-part?" left afterwards!
Does anyone have a tip for us, where to find a manual-or-so-thingie-mabobber?
As for the problem: It "slips out of gear" occassionally - and having no experience with this type of engine, I am at loss of where to start looking.
