I have a 2005 9.9 that ran fine up until recently. It crank fine and ran great for about 1/2 mile then it stalled. i took it to a mechanic. He said it had a clogged jet and it should be fine after he cleared it. I took it out again today and it ran fine for about 500 yards. Then it stalled again and has not cranked again. After i let it sit a while it will fire but has not cranked. I seems like it is not getting gas but the gasline apears to be attached as before and the ball stays primed. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I know that you have a small horsepower, but it sounds maybe like water in fuel. Check your on-board filter, and water will be settled on bottom of filter if in fact that is the problem. Ethanol in fuel will attract water. Do not run engine with water in fuel or you run risk of burning a piston. -
Thanks, I am going to take it to a Yamaha Dealer and hopefully they will fix it for me. Again I really appreciate the advice.Comment
