  • 2006 yamaha LF 250 TXR Fuel pump failure

    Hi,
I have a fuel feed problem. The 5amp fuse marked fuel feed pump keeps
blowing. Would a faulty pump be the cause, and if so how can I test it or is there any other componants that i should check first?
    thanks

Hi, Disconnect the pump, get a inline fuse holder from the auto supply and make up a tester. Two wires with clips on the ends with the fuse in series in the middle of one of the wires. Identify the wire at bolth ends, with the fuse in it so that you know which one it is, . hook one side of the fused wire to the positive side of the battery and the other side to the negitive side. now, take the wires and very carefully energize the pump. Take care not to short the wires of your tester together. a extra pair on hands comes in handy here. If the fuse blows, you have found the problem. Replace the pump.
