  • What prop should I get?

I have a Cape Craft 1900 Bay SE with a Yamaha 115 4-stroke. The boat weights approx 1800 pounds. Running 6000 rpm, full of gas(40 gallons), by myself, trimmed out, I'm running between 29-31 knots with 17 pitch and 14 1/4 inch. This is with the orginal black prop that came with the motor. I would like a stainless steel prop that will help more speed and less rpm's, I'm not sure of the pitch that is needed.

Your WOT rpm is perfect. I would not touch a thing.

You are rolling some good rpm!

You could try 19 pitch stainless but your rpms will drop 5500. Your current prop sounds pretty decent. Maybe 18 stainless would make you happier but picking up couple mph leaves out the cool factor. I just dropped from 17 pitch to 15 and do miss faster boat and is noisy now on 2stroke. 15 Hole shot is better, noise higher, bow picks up out water better for waves. You might get away with 19 at sea level Brand of prop can make a big difference I try and stick with factory equipment cheaper solas leaves performance out for price. Propman might have perfect setup he deals with props at walleyecentral
