2 stroke 50tlr outboard idle
we can't get this motor to idle properly. harder start, in neutral it doesn't stay running, when you accelerate it boggs down, and once you put it into gear, it almost always dies.
we have changed gas , plugs, and the carbs look clean. when we spray carb cleaner in the carbs, the rpm goes up and back to normal, but all of thats done in neutral at almost WOT
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to pull and clean carbs properly and do the link and sync like the Yamaha service manual says
Why would you turn the screw so hard that it breaks off?
It is always best to make sure compression is good on all cylinders first, and then spark and timing.
If all of that is good then work on the fuel related partsLast edited by 99yam40; 07-06-2011, 04:09 PM.
