new 2011 4 cycles 90 hp tachometer problem

Hi, I just installed a 2011 90hp 4 cycle engine on my boat, It came with the square cluster, hub, pigtails, top mount control, switch panel, etc. I installed everything as detailed in the instructions. The engine runs fine but the display cluster will only show a dash in the RPM's space. Any help will be appreciated.
