I have a 2002 Yamaha Z150 TRXY of which the remote oil pump will not transfer oil automatically. The in wire, yellow, to coupler shows 12V. yellow wire changes to brown from coupler going to pump motor shows 12V. When pump is required to run either by emergency switch or low engine oil tank the voltage drops to zero so pump won't run. Pump will run if provided with direct battery voltage. Yellow wire splits off and goes to the control unit. Could the control unit cause the voltage drop

go back and restudy the wiring diagram.
the yellow wire does NOT go to the control unit, the blue wire,ground path, does.
the brown wire is spliced to the yellow which is spliced again in the engine harness.
one of the splices is bad.
the brown wire should have 12V anytime the key is one.
you have a bad wire connection but its not the con*****er.
