Good day,
I have a 1996 Yamaha exciter 220 with a CDI issue with one of the engines.
It was running well then it started to stall suddenly, wouldn't start very good, then wouldn't start at all. Upon frustrating investigation trying to find the problem, I found that my CDI was split. Cracked open like it blew up. I just bought a replacement but before I install it, I'm wondering WHY this happened? What might have caused it and will it happen again? CDI's aren't cheap. Any idea's
