Rebuild or replace?

Hello, I currently have a 1997 EFI O66 250hp outboard, it needs a rebuild. Any recommendations on purchasing a rebuilt powerhead or am I better off finding someone to rebuild the one I have? Failure was due to saltwater intrusion from somewhere and ran through motor, some internal rust has started.
