On my 150 ceto 1992 the motor cover of power trim & tilt is rusted. IT IS WORKING FINE, but just to avoid future problems was my intention to remove the entire block and have it restored and painted. I have loosen and removed all bolts, disconnected the wires from the engine, BUT I could not take out from the engine the unit. I moved it up and down, twisted, NOTHING to do it doesn't come out. So I just brushed the rust off only were I could reach... the back side is impossible to reach !
IS THERE ANY SUGGESTION TO REMOVE IT ?
I would like to avoid to remouve the entire outbord from the transom in order to remove the power trim from the other side, but I think I would find same problem. May be I only would have more access to brush the rust off.
Also what happen if I succeded in removal only the motor cover with the power trim on place ? I mean I can try to unscrew the bolt of the cover (bottom side), and I wonder if there is any oil coming out. What about the carbon brush of the motor, would I find any problem to put them on site again ?
Thank you to anyone spending time to help me
